1st December 2022
I remember we were always short if money, times were hard, as soon as you got the opportunity to make some money, you dumped me, I gave you one hundred pounds, got my brother Nigel to fit out your area of work in Baldies in Kensington Market and then you fucked me off. I'm sorry I was a burden to you. I remember your mum coming over and having a go at you for wasting your life with someone like me. I'll never forget it. She was not happy. I had a council flat and you were in a Camberwell squat. You broke my heart to pieces, I couldn't admit it. You told me you injected heroin, despite your knowledge. I've always thought of you and Simon, I never for a second thought you had passed on this way. It's a lonely path being queer when you have no roots.
